today,
i wore it again
and people complimented me
they say red is my color
and it suits me.

today,
it's too thick and dark
did i overapply
no, it's the right amount
just enough
to make them think
i'm fine.

today,
i look at myself
in the mirror,
and they're right
red shines on me,
so i applied
another layer,
and another
until my lips felt too thick,
but my eyes still see
the scars beneath it.
The little innuendos life drops like sand
When you venture out in space.

Just small simple reminders, slaps on the hand
To stay in your ordained place.

Keep peace on an empty porch, feet upon the floor
Without tears upon your face.

Spend time with well worn pages, just like before,
Call it sad, but know it's grace.

We fell in love by chance,
We stay in love by choice.

A civil war rages internally
My insecurities grab the wheel violently
In a constant state of calamity
Regardless of what side claims victory
I'm destin too lose a part of me
That is, of course,
If it doesn't consume me completely

Spare ribs are not really spare
when the animals they come from
wear them
or am I missing something?

wear them?
where did that come from?

but don't we all wear our bones well,
well,
don't we?

It is a sacred place
Where statues of memories stand
And familiar voices echo from wells
Where the wind blows the dandelions
To grow the falling stars
That I wish upon

Lost without your love,
I am broken,
beyond all,
repair.
