When I imagine
What it's like to die
I think back to when I was three
And I compound fractured my arm
Falling off of a horse

You had your truck
But we were close to home
So you scooped me up
And you ran all the way there

I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry baby. Daddy's got you. Daddy's got you.

That might have been the only time
You ever said you were sorry

I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry baby. Daddy's got you. Daddy's got you.

I just know
That if there's anything after this
Maybe even if there's isn't
After my last breath leaves me
That's what I'll hear

I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry baby. Daddy's got you. Daddy's got you.

Because I hear it
Now
In the dark

Circular and square. And a little glimmer
Of peace -
Or agony.

Cool beneath the waters. A small touch
Of green -
Or sunny coral.

Clanking in mine ears -
But beauty in these eyes -
Through cornea and through
…Retina.

A painfully perfect tube is drilled - the long days
Pierced as if a sharp stare of a swordfish
Glare.

And a breath-taking fibre passes through the
Scar…and the blood covered by a glistening
Price sign.
the rose dipped solid
wouldn't wilt
even if you begged it to

pick and pull the rest until they're stems

I thought yellow would shine eternal
I never had a favorite flower
The unmistakable hues of genuine -
Oh?
It died

Does it get lonely there,
In your head?
Or do regrets visit?
With old pictures to keep you company.
Does imagination ever stop by to take you somewhere new?
I came by on a few occasions and knocked
You didn't answer
But I knew you were there.
I left a note on your porch.
But that was a long time ago.
I put these here
Little shards of who I be
One day
There won’t be
A part of me
You did not see

I fall in love with strangers
Admiring them as they are

My heart overfills with enjoyment
And I don’t know where to pour it all.

She was a little star in your fabulous night sky,
You are the brightest full moon.
She never wanted to be in the center
She always wanted to be a little dust that mattered
But, you turned to that star  and she shone as if she was the center of the universe
The little star was ecstatic and her life was suddenly meaningful!

And one day just like that, you turned away…
To the other side, leaving a dark sky
There are always many more stars in your world
Something else became the centre of your universe.

She waited and waited…
But only to realise that you would never turn back,
She never understood the waxing waning and the seasons of you.
Your night sky is spectacular as always.
The tiny little star went behind the clouds,
No one noticed, least of all, you.

The little star hides behind the cloud
For she could not bear to be just another star in your world.
She watches the splendour and grandeur of your night as you carry on
But could never find confidence to come out in to your sky
And she trembles watching her worst fears come true..
Never able to forget the love that existed in your eyes for her.
The dance continues…
She is now a dust that merely exists but not seen.
