Hair adorned
with rainbow glee
good tidings brought
to noble thee

Bones are weary
thoughts are cloudy
heart is heavy
sighs are breathy

But on this day
the snow is thick
the days are long
with brightening sun

And your radiance gleams
like dragon's treasure
tucked away in secrecy
your beauty and its measure

For love you have
to share in oodles
soft as silk and satin
warm, like labradoodles

You give of yourself
and want for nothing
so here it comes
a day of wonder

For today you were born
and continue to live
continue to fight
continue to give

So receive instead
these joyous words
to thank you for you
for being a friend

Though life is heavy
and the snow layers thick
your smile lights the world
and in our minds, stick
A birthday poem for a friend :)

My Obim <3

Oh how I miss you dearly,

I miss your face,

I miss your smile,

I miss your laughter,

I miss your dial.

My Obim <3

2 years have passed and I just now can mourn your loss,

I miss your smell,

I miss our moments,

I miss our childish acts,

I miss our stories,

I miss our sinful ways,

We promised that we would grow old together

We would share our hearts forever.

Oh my Obim <3

How I miss you my love

And no, this is not a letter to the dead

This is the mourning of a friendship lost

We mourn the end of a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife

But no one talks about the loss of a friend, the end of a soul tie.

We might never reconnect again

But maybe in another life, we would work out to be good friends or maybe even sisters till the very end.

I love you dearly

Goodbye, My Obim <3

When my mind began to cloud, I began thinking out loud.
Man 2d
Dreams that torment -
Between my chest
Is still her lance,
Driven squarely through my heart.
That circumstances were unfortunate,
I should wish for death absent my love.
Things ruined for myself
Tell me this is not the end
That you simply just forget
To ask me how I'm doing
When I'm lonely once again

I am losing faith at best
In the promise that we're friends
I still see no interaction
From the words we haven't said

There's still no standing argument
To suggest it's in my head
I cannot be the only one
Who's concerned the other's dead
(Right....?)

But if there's nothing left to say
Then I suppose I need to rest
Silence can often speak volumes
When you're laying on your bed

So teach me how to handle it
And rest assured I'll try my best
Maybe I can finally get ahead of this
Cause I could really use a reset

To be okay when I'm by myself
And start this once again
To know when i should stop and reflect
To be thankful for all you've been
To me....
Sometimes it's best to move on and let things end naturally.
From getting used to your text
To getting surprised by your text
  Wait, poet, he remembers
But again if he did  he wouldn't have forgotten you don't like being left on read
Sigh if he remembers he would have known why you disappeared last week

Oh no he is not the first person person you told
So l guess diary knows the crax of story

But you made his favourite food
And you he told you how his day went
So much chaos, but you are sure history will have a replay
In 2 weeks max,
you told yourself you would ask him again

Check your calendar today sounds like right on time for a good story

Oh no poet its been over a month
Sigh
So over a month no hi,
You didn't ask how is he either
Why are you surprised by his text
Spoken word communication is 2 way
" so you don't love him anymore, all the feelings faded ? "

No l looked at him and realised they  changed

" Why you smiling "

Because it felt more peaceful than sad
Feelings don't fade they change

Thou art my coolest friend
Always, do you follow the trends
Though you live abroad
With you, never do I feel bored
Always, do you enliven my day
And even help keep my stress at bay!

Thou art my coolest friend
A conversation with you, has almost no end
Patient are you, to a fault
Under pressure, very rarely do you wilt
Never can I imagine you angry
Even when exceptionally hungry!!

Thou art my coolest friend
In you, is there nothing bland
I totally love your photos and reels
They're so good that they nearly feel unreal
A class apart, is your cooking
I could go on eating!!

Thou art my coolest friend
Really, are you a godsend
Because you are sweet as caramel
For you, could I even sing a Christmas carol
Truly, are you such an angel
That, never can you even be touched by the Devil!!

Thou art my coolest friend
Any help, if you need
All you have to do, is to ask
I'll get done the task
Even if I have to die doing it
Just kidding, of course
However, without you, my life just feels false!!

Thou art my coolest friend
When put through the grind
Almost always, do you thrive
Not to mention, are you quite brave
As well as exceptionally smart
Never do you fall apart!!

Thou art my coolest friend
I am yours to command
Because, always is your love and support unconditional
And with you, never can life be dull
I will be with you through thick and thin
After all, you are as good as my kith and kin
So, keep rocking and keep inspiring
May God shower you with a multitude of blessings
And may your life be filled with love, happiness, peace and prosperity!!
Poem dedicated to Shruti, a very very close family friend of mine.

Take heed, the earth is unforgiving
and can be as potent, subtle,
as poison.
Each gift it has given, rejoice,
for it is unafraid
to take back what it rightfully owns.
Man may say that it controls
the Earth, its resources–
torrents–monumental, crashing–
beg to differ.
We offer our condolences
to an already deafened sky.
Promises to “do better next time.”
Our earth, the stern father
that it is, does not waver.
Instead, slick, clean window panes are beaten
by a downpour, and
asphalt with the thirst of its cracks
quenched are all that we receive.
Field upon field with more moisture
than it can bear.
Who were we not to revere this land,
we who apologize as beauty betrays.
