What is this great fruit?
All of life's bounty, in this one root.

The apple of the earth;
From the dirt it doth birth.

Bake, roast, mash,
All else goes to the trash.

The potato's taste is so fine,
Its versatility? Just divine.

*****, fries, tossed in pies,
Potatoes are the best, no compromise.
Yes, I'm aware, the name should be "Ode a las papas." I just thought this sounded nicer.

Hey, don't worry about me.
Everything's ok in my
Life is good and there's no
Possibility of anything bad happening

My poems and other hobbies make me happy
Everything's great, and you shouldn't worry, ok?
I didn't tell you this, but you should read the first letter of each line.

I want to write, but what about?
I have nothing to say, no words to make.
Every idea is just a half bake.

I want to learn, but how?
I can't focus for long, my attention span fades.
Every idea it forbades.

I want to love, but whom?
Who would ever have feelings for me?
Doomed to loneliness for eternity.

I've put little effort into this,
But maybe that's ok.
I don't need to work hard every day.

The heat of the pyre;
The way of the fire.

The strength of the earth;
I've had it since birth.

The ebb of the stream;
The power to dream.

The strength of the hurricane
Puts us in further pain.

The depth of the void;
Our future destroyed.

A world past time,
A world past space,
Sadly, not anyplace.

A world past hate,
A world past fear;
Wait, nobody's here.

A world past loss,
A world past grief,
But of nonbelief

A world unreachable,
This world's Afar,
I'll just settle for things that are.

When all is lost and all is dreary,
When fate is gone and you must go on,
When you go on without a light,
When you fight through the worst of night,
Du bist der übermensch.
When you beat the hopelessness and decay,
Du bist der übermensch.
When you fight a world meaningless,
Du bist der übermensch.
When you create meaning from naught,
Du bist der übermensch
The poem is based on Nietzsche's idea of "the übermensch", literally the "over-man" or "above-man", thus the repeated phrase means "You are the over-man", but "übermensch" can't really be translated. It's the idea of the person who finds his own meaning in a godless world. Nietzsche belived that the Enlightenment "killed", or rather disproved, God, making there be no objective morality and meaning.

I'd give anything to get poems out my mind
They're putting me in a bind
But in time I may come to find
That they're worth something once refined
