Passive
afternoon in
bed, quietly vacant
mind, quite a serene time doing
nothing.

Passive resistance.
With words against tyranny.
Beacon of courage.
"How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause ..."

Sophie Scholl (✝ 22.2.1943)
She had that passive presence
Like the ticking sound of a clock
Sometimes you might notice her
Most often at times you do not
Like a wallflower, she is
You notice her on the wall
But then you get use to her
And don't care if she's there at all
As if she is just forgettable
You can't help it if you forget
She is use to it, it's understandable
It still hurts her nonetheless

There's a mansion on a hill
I've seen it numerous times
But,
I've never been inside

It's said to belong to an old woman
Who is very selective
in who enters her domain

Either you're an insignificant servant
And you slip inside
Through a back door

A tiny molecule diffusing
from high to low concentration

Or, you're a personal servant
Then, you gain special access
Still, through the back door

Water molecule
Diffusing through osmosis

After that are ordinary guests,
aided by the butler
through the front door

Facilitated diffusion
Molecules carried or channeled

And finally,
the VIP's
Welcomed by a great procession
Through a special VIP door
People,
invited by the madam
with great effort

Active transport
From low to high concentration
Requiring added energy

But despite this selectivity
of who can and cannot enter
That old mansion on the hill
And the jobs it provides
Is essential to the livelihood
Of the people in this town

Just like the cell membrane to our bodies
I tried another science analogy one. Personally I like my amino acid and fats ones better but I don't know. We'll see.

Johnny got a job at the grocer
and Mary-Ann moved to Japan.
Sasha strips to feed her sons,
and I hear Jacob wound up sober.

But to me they're all sad sights
forgetting where those ******* came.
So go on ahead, call me a ***,
I'll still rep this south side plight.

Yes sir, sippin my 40 in the rain,
an ashen blunt pressed between my lips,
I have that swag on my back,
and that muddle in my brain.

Mister please knock me out,
I wanna spittle teeth and blood.
Go ahead buddy, take a swing.
Punch me in the mouth.

We were equally matched
Until a plan was hatched
You became the subtle aggressor
By making appearances lesser
Using your passion aggression
To steer a passive direction

You perform a vanishing act
By canvassing flak
Balancing black
Against a sky so blue
Teaching me that which is true
Is different from what I knew
So my anxiety naturally grew

You launch a resistance
By remaining silent
On this plane of existence
Where you're the pilot
Not taking the right angle
Into the Bermuda Triangle
That is your social sphere
Where you disappear
From committal fear
Of love being near

So I throw a search party
But your presence is tardy
Because you're departing
On the journey you're starting
Without me
Slouching
From my submission
To your anti-admission
Splitting our position
Like nuclear fission

The air has become radioactive
Through light that is refractive
Through ways which are retractive
Living this ugly way to live
Sharpening my shiv
To escape this cell of decay
Where flowers bloom and fray
But can't see the light of day
Not one ray

Stuck in the marked moor
Of this dark war
I use parkour
To avoid aggressor attacks
Never cutting me any slack
Bringing pain back
Until I crack

Lost in your blank expression
I make a grave concession
Enslaved to your impression
Yet afraid of your aggression
Caught between
Taking heed
And fulfilling needs
Born from greed
I'll only impede

You scream aggressively
Like you're ******* me
Just by addressing me
After making a mess of me
With deafening quiet
You attack with a diet
Of a steady riot
And I won't buy it

You left when you were here
But stayed once you weren't near
You switched to a guillotine gear
Based on how you wanted to appear
Striking me from the equation
By utilizing deflation
For a sinister elation
You removed our relation

I hope you'd have a million dollar smile,
A crow's feet by your eyes,
And someone who'd photograph those laugh lines.
Put it in a special box.
And may you stumble upon it at the right time when joy is elusive.
May you be reminded
Everything shall pass.
So the tears that are falling right now will dry up and there will be unending joy coming soon.
Inspired by Rudy Francisco's poem.
Also part 1 of the Passive-Aggressive poems.

I forgave you in my prayers, in my heart.
To make room for the essentials.
I kept faith.
Gave up unnecessarry baggage.
I kept love.
Let go of unlabeled emotions.
I kept forgiveness.
Finally, I forgave you.
