We screaming black lives matter
But all they see is a bunch of disobedient slaves.
They screaming all lives matter
But what they meant to say is only white lives matter.
Is it because only white lives in power?
But nah **** that, it’s just cowards in power.
The only thing that separates me from Rosa parks is a bus seat.
In the back of the bus while they spittin some heat.
Typical little black boy
Thinking his only option is to rap or ball.
His only plan is to rise to the top
Never fall.
But that white lady at the end of the hall,
Trying to get some sleep, so she calls the police.
NYPD, New York’s finest pigs.
They rang out 4 warning shots
And now the little black boy dead.
Fell Before he ever had a chance.
But when will they realize?
It’s time to end this 500 year genocide.

I am tired, really tired...
I am tired of my talents not being recognized
I am tired of constantly proving myself
I am tired of being disabled

I am so tired...
Tired of not belonging
Tired of being invisible
Tired of being worthless

I am very, very tired...
I am tired of exchanging fake smiles
I am tired of meaningless conversations
I am tired of appearing dumb so as to get help

I am just tired...
Tired of being useless
Tired of failing
Tired of not dreaming

I am extremely tired...
I am tired of being apologetic
I am tired of being left out
I am tired of being ugly

What I am I saying?
What am I really tired of?
Why am I tired?

I am tired...
Tired of being speechless
Tired of being powerless
Tired of being afraid

In fact, I am broken down...
Broken down by being black
Broken down by being African
Broken down by being primitive

Blink your eyes once.

An innocent child
killed just like that.

Blink your eyes twice.

While walking through the wrong neighborhood

being black.

How far has the doctrine of Dr. King
come for that?

Mr. Cooke sang to us a change
was gon come..
and he ain't even here to write the lyrics to finish the song unsung!

I wonder if he is watching from the sky,
and knows we are all afraid to die.

It's been a long time coming,
he said.

And here we still wait
to be dead.

And in the midst of our waiting,
we've decided to
**** each other instead.

I know change is a long time coming
Listening to "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke and reading some history. The Trayvon Martin case came to mind and it still makes me emotional to this day.
