Pretty Plagues May 2015
You were so very smooth
but still I could not trust you
I even think back
to the last time we said goodbye
and I skinny dipped
into your azul irises
and I remembered that my mom
used to tell me that blue skies
were actually just a reflection
of the ocean
so we can't quite trust what we see...

Transparency.

But was it you? Or was it me?
Was he a liar? Was she?
Were they receiving each other equally?

Reminders of mortality
imprinted on foot,
exhausted by the apathy
so at night we shook.
Took my heart and didn't pay love,
should I call you a crook?
We shout "I love you" to the wind
because we don't know
which way to look.

Would you believe it if I told you
that I did it all for you?
