letting go felt horrible.
it's something i didn't want to do.
she was watching us,
hawk eyes over me and you.

letting go took my words away.
i couldn't say what i wanted to tell you,
my voice only strong enough
to call out for help.

letting go made my brain go foggy.
all the emotions clouding it,
unable to get the words out.
voice caught in my throat.

letting go so soon made me miss you more.
i wasn't ready,
not prepared for letting go and you leaving.
i wasn't ready.

letting go had to be done.
i hate to say it,
but we had to let go.

if we didn't we'd be standing there all night,
held in each others arms,
enjoying the comfort of our homes.
letting go didn't feel right.
