It’s time to sleep
Yet here I lay
Wide awake
With thoughts of you
Dancing through my mind.

I think of what I would say
And what you’d reply with,
If I saw your face right now.
Would I be angry or would I be happy?
The emotions rage war in my mind.

It’s time to sleep
Yet here I lay
Wide awake
With thoughts of you
Dancing through my mind.

I know what I want to say,
What I want to hear.
“Sorry” would be a good place for you to start.
But I know you would never say that
So instead, the scene runs through my mind.

It’s time to sleep
Yet here I lay
Wide awake
With thoughts of you
Dancing through my mind.

Here’s the call,
Here’s my chance to say to you
What I’ve wanted to say,
But all that comes out is a simple
“Go away”.  Not

It’s time to sleep
Yet here I lay
Wide awake
With thoughts of you
Dancing through my mind.

I want an apology, I just want to understand.
But all I get is silence as I speak into the empty night.
Hoping you’ll hear my words inside your head,
I'm in my house and you’re in yours.
Why can’t you hear these words?

It’s time to sleep
Yet here I lay
Wide awake
With thoughts of you
Dancing through my mind.
