Another year, another Father's day
Too long since mine has passed
Still holding tight the memories
Of the man that I called Dad

He did with me the best he could
Teaching me what he thought was right
Never turn your face my son the evil ways
When it comes to justice stand and fight

Always respect your Mother
Loving her the best you can
And when you see those with little hope
Lift them up with the kind word of friend

Valuable lessons that my Daddy gave
I can't begin to tell
He is with my other Father now
In Heaven where all is well

If I could be half the man my Father was
Remembering all he thought was right
Like being the best Dad for his kids
Then I will have served out well my purpose in life

From almost a year to ten years
It's not any easier as more time passes by
I know your both flying sky high
You watch over all of us each and every day
Sending us little signs that we know your ok
From a penny on the ground, a cardinal flying by, a song to play, or a spider crawling around
It's the little things that remind us of you
We miss you so much, Happy Father's Day to you

Dad and Harold we miss you dearly and we love you with all of our hearts.
Wrote this a couple years back after my dad passed away and my husbands dad was already gone. Now it will be 3 years my dad is gone and 12 that my husbands dad is gone. Miss them more then words can say happy Father's Day in heaven dads!

Timothy,
For always being there.
For caring.
For loving me; You don't even know me.

May clover brighten your path
And sunshine lighten your way
Down the path to your farmhouse
Where daisies dance and sway
Inside the home where love resides
In a comfy arm-chair is where you'll rest
After a hard day's work, you now relax
As the dying sun fades in the west
May some charming thought
Bring a smile unto your face
As from your covered porch you watch
Our handsome English Setters race
So, go ahead and make a wish
For brighter days in store
Where our home upon the hill awaits
Waiting evermore

There is so much pain
Hidden beneath those blue eyes
I wish I could take it all away
Yes, even your inner cries

I apologize for the bad day
I feel like I am to blame
Even though I know I'm not
And I know it will not be the same

Your blue eyes like the ocean's depth
Beckons my own blue ones
I can see the reflection of stars in them
One day the pain inside them will be gone

I would take your pain away if I could
Just to see you happy again
Mending those broken wings
With a gentle summer rain

It's hard to be a daddy
And mend children's broken toys
It's hard to be a daddy
When everyone looks up to you
Everyone's depending on you
Expecting you to be perfect
In everything you do
It's hard to be a daddy
You try to bottle up your emotions
Stop your tears, shed your fears
It can be so frustrating
It can try your patience
It's never easy to be a daddy
And set an example
For your child/children
It's so hard to be daddy
But daddies are kind and loving
With gentle hearts
Strong, loving hands
Teasing, happy eyes
Tight hugs and tender kisses
It's hard to be a daddy
And that's why daddies are special
That's why daddies are blessings
I love my daddy!

Over a cup of hot tea
The poet's words onto paper fly
Weaving skillful poetry

His poems I do so enjoy
His words, they never die
Over a cup of hot tea

Sometimes he sings merrily
Other times his finger over piano keys fly
Weaving skillful poetry

His happiness goes on eternally
Yet other times I see him cry
Over a cup of hot tea

Once I saw him by the sea
Where thoughts did like seagulls fly
Weaving skillful poetry

Enjoying the silence peacefully
With a blissful sigh
Over a cup of tea
Weaving skillful poetry

He is the buddha in their household.

When he arrives from work,
his two elder daughters run to his sides
already holding their guitars,
wanting to start jamming with him
right there and then.

The two younger ones
stand close to his feet,
waiting to be swung with his arms
as soon as he puts down
his heavy black bag.

His third daughter just hugs him tight,
his tummy choking within her tiny arms.

Right now, he is walking on air,
smiling widely, as his five girls
give him their  gifts of homemade
loom bands and paper robots,
as they all  greet him loudly---
"happy father's day, daddy!"

He is my son, Norman,
he is the father of my five
granddaughters...

He is the buddha in their
household....

I never got to meet my father...
He died when I was nine months old,
But his presence, I always felt
While I was growing up,
Even up to this day...

He would often visit me in my dreams,
Told me not to worry or despair,
Took my hand,
Told me I could go with him..
Which I almost did...

A few times, in high school
I felt a light push on my back
When my Home Economics teacher
Almost caught me nodding...I was
Too bored, to focus on her sewing lessons...

I was always saved from falling
Each time I climbed the guava tree...
I feel some kind of force stopping me,
Standing ahead of me,
Whenever I cross the street, even now...

My late aunt said she found me
Looking up and giggling
When at three or five years old,
I played by myself beside
My father's tall and sturdy book case...

I see his face when I go through
His dwindling collection of
Edgar Allan Poe books, including his
Law books, and a few western pocketbooks left,
All, with mottled pages now...

The matrimonial bed he shared
With my late mother is still in use...
His portrait is hung on our wall...
Today, the fifteenth of June, his birthday,
I look through his eyes, and-----

In silence, I greet him,
"Happy birthday, papa,
Happy Father's Day, as well."
In my mind, my father lives,
And my own stories of him therein dwells...

Sorrow felt by both of us
Heartache only God can heal
As I whisper across the wind
"I can feel your pain and sorrow
Come, I love you dearly
We feel the same pain
And the wounds on our hearts
Have shed the same blood
Perhaps we can both
Comfort each other
As we feel the same pain"

Loving minds remember
And hearts open with love and mercy
Compassion how I strongly feel
And my heart goes out to you
Sorrow felt by both of us
I truly feel your pain
And though my words
Humble though they be
I hope you will in them
Comfort and solace find
To make your heart heal
For there is an everlasting peace
That comes from above
I hope you understand,
My dear one
That I feel your pain
This sorrow felt by both of us
And one day
We will see
Our loved ones again
God promises that
Rainbow promises
Breathed on a rose scented air
Sorrow felt by both of us

Merry dear Dad his Inner Kevlar endure
And allow my Years to promote his Prove
For Right-Side's Heal let his Honour be Pure
And mirror the Big Hand in Sky's Glory
For if it be this Son, sullen by Age
Of Desert Years twice-score he should Wander
Would share his Bread; To patient Sky quench Rage
And emulate our Saviour's Mercy ponder
Yet you. Still you. Be my Foundation's Best
Apart from Powers I could Un-Concieve
That Feigned but Guiding Hand; With all Lime's Zest
Harness it ever from Sugars too Sweet.
And yes, dear Dad; The Five-Pronged Bot did die
Yet withered their Ghosts to greet your Day by.

This is the day,
It's time for me to say,
"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!"
And I hope it will be special in everyway!
There's cake and ice-cream too,
For a Dad who's kind, loyal, and true,
So this is without doubt the day,
For me to say,
"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!"
Because you're the brightest sunray!
