Remember the shine of the great Eye always watching
Fire and shadow lurking over the mountains
An army chanting a language so very harsh, it hurts to sound
The break of the dawn where clouds are darken, and dreams are dead
Towards the pass, between the Black Gates
Lies the servent of great old foe
Who is now unlike his master, survived all the lords of the world
To become a lord of his own
One ring to rule them all
One ring to find them
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the lands of Mordor where shadow lies

When my journey comes to its end
All my thought and time spent
There will be one last journey
In secret the sea leads to eternity

I disembark upon a land hidden from sight
I see a barricade of mountains on guard
A place where all the fair creatures delight
Beyond these huge walls lies that land of heart

Opened are my eyes and my mind
Sanctuary of light and green entwined
The sun forever dwells in the airs
No more touch of foul and all is fair

The lands and the waters are undying
Birds in the airs of peace stay flying
The home to the Powers of the World
Absolute beauty to me was first unfurled
This poem is a tribute to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, who is one of my influences as a writer.
With a sigh you turn away
With a deepening heart
No more words to say
You will find that the world
Has changed forever

And the trees are now turning
From green to gold
And the sun is now fading
I wish I could hold you closer

Time and tide will sweep away.
