In life’s rearview
Rosa refused to stand
Nelson paid the price for his land
King’s dream was shattered by a bullet
which birthed more bullets for the chocolate man
Until we said NO MORE!
Jonathan Moya Jan 2020
In the shadow of Lincoln
he heard Mahalia shout out
“Tell them about the dream, Martin!
Tell them about the dream.”

He remembered the vision
and the words that came to him
on that long walk to freedom
on that 75 degree June Detroit day.

It was evident as the clear water
of the mall’s reflecting pool,
the Washington monument in front,
the declarations of Jefferson behind him.

He again heard Mahalia’s words sing in him,
the dream of 12 thousand 500 score faces,
wanting to listen, pleading to listen
but only Mahalia’s rising above this soul’s choir.

He pushed the papers to the lectern’s left
and his old preacher voice remembered Detroit,
Montgomery, Albany, Birmingham.
He rose, called to them and the mountains beyond.

The harder I fall the more I fall away
It's self preservation at its finest
But why do I want to fall from the one who loves me?
We're at a cliff and I'm hanging on with one hand
and he's at the top begging me to not let go
It's temptation it's fear
It's a lifetime of leaving before I'm left
It's a lifetime of leaving blame on everyone else
It's a lifetime of loving so hard my heart can't handle it
But he assures me he can shoulder the weight of my burdens
My past, my present, and future
It's trust he's trying to hand me and that my hand can't reach for because it wants to let go
And go and go and fall and drop
It wants to reach out for him and pull him closer to me and with me.
I want him on top and on bottom and I want him near and away
But my body betrays me and the magnetic force is always trying to turn the opposite direction so we can't click together
I don't know why I am the way I am and I don't want to be me sometimes

The rose bush has so many roses
a choice for every person that wanders by
the one that is closest, or the one far and high?
one man saw these roses
all the choices in the bundles
he saw the one that had no thorns
he saw one with many leaves
and then he saw the rose with the most thorns,
one that surely meant destruction
if touched..
but on that morning
one man reached up,
gently grabbing that rose
not being pricked until the last moment,
for that rose had the darkest petals and the lightest ones,
swirling in a chain
that man knew he had His Rose,
and that man has a Dream
for the people of the future
to be like that rose.

He succeeded
causing anger and his death
but also a future
The Future of The Dark and Light Rose.
Sorry i haven't been on, just been busy on my new server on blockheads, called "Dragon & wolf Rp"
If you wanna check it out..
this poem is about Martin Luther Kings Jr., and basically is about how he made a choice that was hard, and actually made it there. I know it's late, was planning on doing it sooner, but better late then never!

Don Junior had a meeting with
Natalia Veselnitskaya
and he did not disclose this fact
or say what did transpire.

Paul and Jared were there too
but "nothing was discussed".
Don said the meeting ended
and turned out to be a bust.

The New York Times found out
and asked why Don did not report.
"But nothing happened" Junior claimed
when making his retort.

Then under pressure from the press
some emails he set free,
confirming Russian interest in
a Trump presidency.

His daddy claimed, "He's a good boy"
"He's new, green and naive".
But Manafort - He should have known
(one would like to believe).

But Junior's new transparency
turned out to be untrue...
It seems that a fifth person was
there in the meeting too!

A former Soviet officer
named Rinat Akhmetshin
was also at the meeting...
so why was he brought in?

And then we soon learned of a sixth...
a seventh... and then eight!
Tied to the oligarchs and
Russian governmental state.

What was the meeting all about?
Perhaps there's nothing to surmise.
The secrecy though, would suggest
it might be otherwise.

Don Junior had a meeting
that nobody disclosed.
Let's hope this helps fulfill the dream...
to see his dad deposed!

Are you seeing what I'm seeing
Do you smell what I smell
Do you breathe the air I breathe
Or is this all just me

Tell me know
Is this what you want
Out of the mouth of Martin Luther King Jr.
"Darkness can't drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate can't drive out hate; only love can do that"
We can't hate something that we created
We made them mad
We fired them up
We stand on democracy's front lawn
You stand where you stand and the ground will continue to move around you
Be tainted
Be rude
Be ******
Be crude
But don't put words in our mouths or take them out of context
Don't riot and charge
Be strong and stand where you stand for how ever long

We can walk these streets from La to D.C
We can scream at the top of our lungs
Until we can't breathe
We can fight with our words and our hearts as we please
Because we have the right to free speech
We have the right to free press
We have the right to protest
But the fire is not a right
Disturbing the peace
Not a right
What ever we have left keep it please

On May 21, 1979 a riot took place
Causing people to break windows
Burn police cars
And fight so brutally
That riot had a name
White Night
See these people wanted to fight for what they thought was right
The intention was good yet the way that it was presented was hellish
On April 12, 1861
The bloodiest war of American history began
It started with the nation fighting over an issue
A big one too
The president at the time some people liked
Others hated
He spoke a speech so that everyone could hear that the issue was now taken care of
That is what he thought
It sparked what we all know as the Civil War

Please tell me now
Is this what you want
To create a war
A dysfunctuon
Out of the mouth of Harvey Milk
"Hope will never be silent"
Your  hope, my hope, his hope, our hope
It will never remain silent
Yet a riot is not what they need nor what we need
So march down these streets from La to D.C
Take on the people we never see
They could take the bull horn out your hands but they can't take the fire out of your voice
Be strong
Be peaceful
And be bold
Keep on fighting

Are you seeing what I'm seeing
Do you smell what I smell
Do you breathe the air I breathe
Or is this all just me
History repeats it's self more than anything.
This is more than just a poem or a thought. It is a realization.

the most prominent thing i remember is the back of your head and how the last thing i always picture is the front door closing
my heart is left empty and so is my bed
i can't claim it to be ours, not anymore in this room of broken promises
i wish you could have left me your clothes hanging, then maybe you would have lingered longer than the wind or of how cigarettes smell
you may be wondering why i'm struggling for air, trust me i've been trying to quit but with every drag and stick your face shows up in between and if that's the only way to not forget then i'd rather choke on coughing fits
the day you carried out your bags, you took away what belonged to me as well
you were the whole package of dreams and soon to be's, you were my future but you cut the strings and i had no choice but to let you slip through my fingers
you stayed long but how you withdrew yourself from me was an act of retreat
you did not have to leave
so if you ever come back searching for me, know that all i have to offer is to forgive
we make mistakes as human beings, it's our nature's way of living but i will never blame you for wrong doings
i will love you for as long as these corners stand firm and still, afterall this was the house we lived in
a series of poems about a fictional character named 'jennee reed'

Maybe it'd be easier to burn the bridges,
Ashes flaking down around us,
Dancing like they're happy.

They stole the happiness from how we used to feel,
****** it out and drained it dry,
But all you ever said to me were empty words.

So I take a match and light these bridges,
Hoping that one day we won't be pinned to each other.
But with the greatest intentions at hand,
I'm far too stubborn to even imagine letting go.

With this little time before I go,
I'll become the hunter, the vulture, the predator,
and you'll be the cowering mouse in a corner,
such a flip side experience for you.

With passion filled eyes I'll hungrily swoop in,
I'll feast on an ill-minded meal and intake your intentions,
Becoming a heart-breaker in the process of getting rid of one.

(p.h.) (j.r.)
you're a ******* heart breaker and this is how i'll rid your diseased mind from this spiraling planet.

The funny thing is that I can forget about you for months on end
But on a random night when my blankets are pulled up high and the blinds are pulled back
And my alarm is set for 6 AM, when I used to get your good morning texts,
that’s when you sneak back into my head
With your warm lips and your silly laugh
And your sweet pet names and your wandering hands
Back into my dreams, petting me across the cheek and through my hair,
But lately in my dreams
You’ve started to look at me with such hatred
That I have a hard time believing it’s a dream at all.

(p.h.) (j.r.)
the relevancy for this has long since existed.
